MINISTER DLAMINI ZUMA TO ADDRESS KWAZULU/NATAL PROVINCIAL EXECUTIVE COUNCIL, WEDNESDAY 25 NOVEMBER 2009

Pietermaritzburg- Minister of Home Affairs, Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma will on Wednesday 25 November at 10h00 address the Kwazulu/Natal Provincial Executive Committee meeting scheduled for the Provincial Government offices in Pietermaritzburg.

The visit takes place against the background of an invitation by the Kwazulu/Natal Premier Dr. Zweli Mkhize for Minister Dlamini Zuma to address the Executive Council on challenges facing the Department of Home Affairs.

In this context, Minister Dlamini Zuma is expected to reiterate the view that challenges facing the Department of Home Affairs cannot be resolved by officials of the department alone, but requires a national effort, under the theme “Together we can do more” to transform the department to enable it to discharge its constitutional mandate of delivering quality service to the citizenry.

Following her interaction with the Premier and Members of the Executive Council, Minister Dlamini Zuma is expected to interact with Members of the Provincial Legislature in Pietermaritzburg before proceeding to Durban where she will address about 200 senior officials of the Department of Home Affairs on the need to improve on the kind of services being rendered by the department to communities throughout South Africa.
