Home Affairs comments on Khoza IDs28/08/2001

The Department of Home Affairs has said there may not be anything untoward about the fact that soccer chief Irvin Khoza was issued with two identity documents and multiple passports.

Commenting on the two identity document numbers reflected on departmental records, an official from the department told 702 Talk Radio that the department might have erred and issued Khoza with a new number after he lost an ID. It was also possible that he could have corrected his birth details, the officials said. One ID number states that Khoza was born on 27 January 1948 while the other showed that he was born on 4 May 1949.
